      Importing Leads in .CSV Format into Excel: A Step-by-Step Guide for Real Estate Professionals

      When it comes to managing your leads, Excel offers a powerful and versatile platform. Importing leads in a .CSV (Comma Separated Values) format into Excel is a straightforward process that allows you to organize and analyze your data efficiently. This step-by-step guide will walk you through the process, ensuring you're equipped to manage your leads seamlessly.

      Step 1: Obtain Your .CSV File

      1. First, make sure you have your lead list in a .CSV file format. All lead lists from The Share Group are provided in a .CSV format.  Additional formats are available upon request.
      Step 2: Open Excel
      1. Launch Microsoft Excel on your computer.

      Step 3: Import Your .CSV File

      1. Go to the "Data" tab on the Excel ribbon.
      2. Click on "Get Data" or "From Text/CSV," depending on your Excel version. This will initiate the import process.

      Step 4: Locate Your .CSV File

      1. Browse your computer's files to find and select the .CSV file you want to import.
      2. Click "Import" or "Open" to proceed.

      Step 5: Configure Import Settings

      1. A Text Import Wizard will appear. Choose "Delimited" and click "Next."
      2. Select the delimiter used in your .CSV file. Typically, it's the comma character. You can preview how your data will be split in the "Data preview" section.
      3. Click "Next."

      Step 6: Choose Data Formats

      1. In the "Data preview" section, you can adjust the data format for each column. Select "Text" for columns containing alphanumeric characters to prevent any data misinterpretation.
      2. Click "Finish."

      Step 7: Select Destination

      1. Choose where you want to place the imported data in your Excel workbook. You can either create a new worksheet or append the data to an existing one.
      2. Click "OK" to complete the import process.

      Step 8: Review and Manipulate Data

      1. Your .CSV data is now imported into Excel. Review and manipulate it as needed using Excel's features.
